How Mike & Meegan Met

Both Mike and Meegan spent many years working at a wilderness camp. Meegan worked there the first, second and fifth summers of the camp. Mike worked there the third and forth summers. It was not until the sixth summer that they worked together. Meegan heard the legend of Mike a year before ever meeting him. Her campers could not stop talking about the greatest counselor ever (who they had as their counselor the year before). The stories they told were of a super hero, breaking trail through 10 feet of snow while carrying two back packs. Her vision was of a seven foot tall, bronze skinned man with a square jaw who never wore a shirt. She later met the human Mike who soon became her hero too.

When both Mike and Meegan worked at camp during the same summer, Mike was determined to catch Meegan's attention. Mike mysteriously drew Meegan's name (out of 50 names) to be her secret buddy for the summer. He showered her with gifts including well written poetry, artistic photographs and a pound of chocolate covered raisins slipped into Meegan's backpack before a week-long trip. Meegan hates raisins, and Mike was well aware of that fact!

Meegan's room at camp was on the second floor with a balcony attached. Mike had written a poem for Meegan, but he hated reading aloud. So, he asked his buddy, Wiggy, to call Meegan out to the balcony. As Wiggy read the poem to Meegan, while hidden in the bushes, Mike stood below the balcony, moving his mouth and waving his arms as if he was the one reading the poem. Then Mike raised a ladder up to the balcony railing, climbed the ladder and asked Meegan to join him for a night on the town.

Still, Meegan was not sure about Mike. He seemed a little too smitten. He was too nice. However, that summer Mike's fraternity brothers from college came to visit him...
